An impressive comeback in the last 20 minutes saw Dundalk overturn a 16-0 deficit to win 24-16 at home to Kilkenny. Kilkenny dominated early with strong mauling and built a 13-0 lead by halftime, later extending it to 16-0. Dundalk struggled initially but gained momentum when Kilkenny missed chances to extend their lead.
James Shields’ try, followed by two more from Tiernan Gonnelly and David Murdock, helped Dundalk close the gap and ultimately secure victory. Darragh Conroy’s conversions and a penalty kept Kilkenny at bay.
Dundalk now sits fifth in the league, just two points behind their next opponent, Wexford. They have a break until their next match on November 24, allowing time for injured players to recover.
